Come On The Journey With Us

The walk in faith grows harder, and the story of Job continues, but for now I cannot disclose it, just be assured that it added stress to our life. We request your continued prayer support for God's provision.

I've prayed a great deal, asking the Lord to fling doors open and slam others shut, so that it will be so evident as to what I should do that I cannot mistake it. We have went four months now without an income, and the clock is ticking. When I get depressed about it I merely look to what Paul said, listing all that he gave up to follow Jesus, going from church to church relying on their generosity to support him.

I use to believe that only certain people were called for certain things, but now I know that was wrong. We, you, and I, all of us, are called into service. When we don't love our neighbors as we love ourselves we are not following His command. When we do not share the gospel message, we are not following Matthew 28:19-20, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."

Again, the founder of the organization that sends us to Asia, said that they have the divine right to hear the message. Don't you agree? Mary Jane Welch in an article for International Missions Boards writes, "In the last century, the number of Christians in Africa grew from 9 million to more than 360 million—and it’s still growing at an estimated pace of 1,200 churches a month,..." That means that 40 percent of Africans are Christian, while less than .05 percent of the population of China or Vietnam are Christian. Yet, because of the faces of starving children or those afflicted with HIV are on the covers of Christian magazines, the vast majority of human resource and finances goes to Africa.

Today, China and Viet Nam are faced with a growing HIV problem, and if the governments would allow the truth to be told, you would see thousands of starving and abandoned children in poorly maintained orphanages, but that isn't the message. What if we treat the symptom but not the cases? HIV is spreading because of sex, unprotected sex. Children, girls, are abandoned to orphanages along with deformed children because life is not valued. Yes, we must treat the symptoms, but we must also treat the illness. Bringing the word of God into Asia is the cure for the illness. That means, we must feed the soul with spiritual food, not just the body with rice. The word needs to be brought to the people of Asia just as much as the Africans or those in India need it. Look at the faces of the Asians I am posting and ask yourself, do these youngsters have the divine right to here the message? If the answer is yes, than I plead with you to support me in my efforts.
