Latest Update On Viet Nam
Greetings, brothers and sisters. Each and everyday, and almost every minute of the day, I think about the Lord in some fashion or another. I am either praying, considering, or wondering what HE would do, or think, and at times, such as the other day, arguing with Him.
There are several stories in the bible where people argue with God, and in some cases even get mad at Him. It is as my Pastor said on Sunday, "God is big enough to take it." I agree. I however, am not strong enough nor big enough, often failing to withstand the pitfalls, and occasional beatings life deals out. I had one such moment the other day. I got mad at the Lord, wanting answers, like some spoiled little kid who has been given to much.
I find myself in an odd place. A local college has hired me part time, that's 6-8 hours a week for teachers. Another employer is considering me, again for a part time teaching position, 9 hours a week, and for those familiar with it, Educational Testing Center, wants me to certify so I can score tests, which would be up to 16 hours a week. If all of this work manifests, then I will be earning a pretty good wage. However, the school in Viet Nam has finally responded and it appears that my contract has been approved, so now I can go live, work, and minister in Viet Nam.
Now it is truly decision time. This is a vast opportunity to reach into the heart of Viet Nam, to spread the word, and to hold studies into His word with new brothers and sisters. The particulars to this contract, Viet Nam, like China doesn't pay much. The average teacher earns only $200 a month. That is what I will be getting paid. They agreed to cover food and housing as well. Needless to say, I will need your financial support if I decide to do this.
Currently, Coy and I haven't earned a dime in five months from working. We have an average American outlay, that is we pay out as much as anyone else does. (Foolish of us, I know) I would like to set this up like any other ministry centered organization that sends people into the field. Health insurance, (to include international emergency transportation), a monthly stiphen to help pay bills at home, and if this goes long term, years, then retirement payments. For this I will need your dedication to spreading the message. I will send out notices, when I make my decision. Please be praying.
